For the liberation from sufferings and quick attainment of Buddhahood of all sentient beings, the Venerable Rinpoche mercifully opened the answer box “The Specific Dharma Answer Box sedengdy@163.com”. On the basis of systematic study at Sedeng Monastery Official Website, and the Dharma teachings and guidance at Guru’s Blog, numerous Buddhists and fellow practitioners can also pray for Guru answering questions. After praying, this issue’s questions and answers are as follow, let us learn together:

1 弟子無緣無故就被師兄罵，雖然是我往昔的業力所致，但是我該怎麼辦？

Disciple got scolded by senior fellow for no reason, though it was because of my previous karma but what can I do?

答：多懺悔。

Repent/confess more.

2 最近我收到一位不熟悉的人郵寄來的一個“佛教藏密吉祥八卦九宮咒輪”，不知是否如法，如果不如法怎麼處理？

Recently I have received a courier of “Tibetan Sipa-ho amulet” from a person whom I’m not very closed to, I don’t know if it is real dharma, how should I handle it?

答：不知道。

I don’t know.

3弟子以前皈依過法王如意寶和索達吉堪布，現在又皈依了您，我不知道這樣是否如法，會不會犯了離棄上師的重罪？

Disciple has refuged to Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok and Khenpo Sodargye before and now I refuged to you. I am not sure if this is proper dharma or if this will result in some sort of heavy offense like abandoning guru?

答：沒關係。

It’s alright.

4.弟子在為某事做專項的火供法事時，寫了一些自己親人的名字在祈福名單中，想讓他們也同時獲得法事的功德，這樣的做法是否可以？

Disciple was doing a particular fire offering for certain occasion, may I also put my family member’s name on the praying list, letting them receive the merit of this event? Is this alright?

答：可以的。

Yes, you may.

5.弟子以前參加共修，根本沒有念滿發願念誦的數量，現在知道錯了，有沒有什麼辦法可以補救？請寺院念經是否可以補救呢？怎麼做才可以懺悔清淨？

Disciple didn’t actually finish the reciting amount of what I’ve vowed for in previous practice, now I admitted my mistake, is there anything I can do to remedy? Is it that I can ask temple to do chanting for me? What can I do to repent clearly?

答：最好自己念圓滿。

Best you finish the reciting yourself.

6.弟子心裡不希望上師為眾生解脫如此辛苦，弟子們怎樣做才能分擔?

Disciple doesn’t want Guru being so tired for the liberation of all beings, what could we do to help share that?

答：多聞思修行。

Listen, contemplate and practice more.

7.弟子除了共修念咒、打坐念經外，平時就只想念上師、祈禱上師，這樣如法嗎?

Other than practice, chanting mantra, sit in meditation and reciting. Disciple will usually think about pray to Guru, is this proper?

答：當然可以。

Definitely alright.

8.如果家人對佛法沒有生起正見，可以通過念誦上師祈禱文祈請加持他們，或者用家人的名字行持善法幫助家人積累福報資糧嗎？我想讓家人都皈依上師，怎樣幫助他們能夠儘快皈依？

If my family haven’t had the right view towards Buddhism, can I pray for the blessing to them through chanting the prayer to Guru? Or doing good deeds in the name of my family so to help them accumulate merit? I hope my family can refuge to Guru, how can I quickly make it happen?

答：多祈請蓮師，多修行，多回向。

Pray more to Guru Padmasambhava, practice and dedicate more.

9.從事養殖業，犯殺生根本戒嗎？沒有親手殺，但是把豬、牛養大後，販賣給別人，由下一個環節的人來殺，這犯殺生根本戒嗎？

Working in the breeding industry, is it committed to the basic precept of killing? It is not killing with one’s own hands but is to raise the pig and cow then sell them to others which is for killing purpose. Is this committed to the basic precept of killing?

答：肯定是的。

Of course yes.

10.您曾開示：在餐館點殺，同自己殺生是一樣的。但是弟子不解，殺生的四個條件“對境、動機、行為、結果”中，行為不具足，自己並沒有動手，為什麼還是犯殺生根本戒呢？

Once you had given us instruction that ordering meat in the restaurant is like killing by yourself. However, disciple don’t understand, under the four conditions of killing ‘object, motivation, action & result’, action is not in place as there’s no killing with one’s own hands, so why is it still committed to the basic precept of killing?

答：已經具備了四個條件。比如你想吃魚，就有想殺的念頭，然後其他人殺了魚，結果魚被殺了，你殺魚和他殺魚是一樣的。

Four conditions are possessed, for example if you want to eat fish, you have the motivation of killing, then other people kill the fish and hence it’s being killed, killing it yourself or by the others are the same.

11.家裡有一條活魚，母親一定要我陪她把魚送去給親戚，實在勸不動，如果我陪她去的話，我是否犯殺生的根本戒？

There is a living fish at home, my mother asked me to escort her in sending the fish to a relative, she insisted however hard I try to stop her. If I go with her, will I be committed to the basic precept of killing?

答：如果你知道把魚送過去，魚是被殺的，那和殺生沒有區別。

If you know that the fish is for the purpose of killing after sending it over, then there is no different from killing.

12.供水時水不能太淺，不能杯子中空出很多，供燈是否也有同樣的要求？不能杯子很大、燈很小？

When offering water, it shouldn’t be too shallow and the cup shouldn’t be too empty. Is it the same requirement for light offering? The cup should not be too big and candle be too small?

答：一樣的，按照比例做。

It is the same, do according to the proportion.

13.關於傳承，有人說接受一個上師的傳承，就形成師徒關係，這個說法對不對？

In regard to the inheritance, some say that having received the inherit from Guru, the mentoring relationship is then formed, is this saying correct?

答：接受了傳承，師徒關係已經有了，但是沒有灌頂那麼嚴重。

After receiving the inheritance, the mentoring relationship is then formed. Just that it is not as serious as empowerment.

14.是不是也不要隨便接受傳承？具備什麼資格的人可以把某個修法或心咒傳承給別人？

Is that we should not receive inheritance casually? What qualification should you possess in order to be able to inherit any kind of dharma or mantra to others?

答：不瞭解，為什麼要隨便接受傳承？看《大圓滿前行引導文》，上面寫得很清楚。

I am not sure why should someone receive inheritance casually. Look into ‘The Words of My Perfect Teacher‘, it’s written on it clearly.

15.如弟子從上師處接受某個修法或心咒的傳承，弟子念給別人聽，讓別人也有修法傳承，這樣行不行？

If disciple received from Guru an inheritance of a certain dharma or mantra, disciple then recite it for others so that they also have dharma to inherit. Is this alright?

答：如果你證悟了，就可以。

Yes, if you have achieved enlightment.
